Get the Most Out of the Rest Of 2013

no excuses

no excuses

As soon Thanksgiving rolls around our brains start to turn off. We know there are only a few weeks until the Christmas holiday and a few days after that we are into a new year. It’s only natural that most of us are plagued with the adult version of senioritis. “I’ll get to it next year,” we say to ourselves. But what if we didn’t?

Have you seen that quote reminding you that you have the same number of hours in a day as Beyonce? Right. You do.

Instead of making your to-do list your New Year’s Resolutions early, how awesome would it be if we clear them and start 2014 with a clean slate? This doesn’t only apply to those pesky tasks like cleaning our ovens, but fun ones that we always put off because we think we don’t have time. It’s too easy to procrastinate and promise ourselves that we will get around to it.

So here’s my call to action, for the last few weeks of 2013 go hard! There’s still time to get more out of this year, and when you do you will start getting the most out of next year earlier.

How you ask?

Make a list of 5 things you have to do to keep your household or personal life in order. Then make a list of five things that you wanted to try or places you wanted to go. For every chore you check off, you get to treat yourself to a new experience.

We all owe it to ourselves to get the most we can out of each day. As is sadly evident, life is short. If you can take ten things off your to-do list can you will be able to imagine ten more for you to start checking off your list in 2014. It’s temping to coast and we all definitely deserve a break, but we also deserve to live our best lives. Before anyone comes after me, yes that’s a direct Oprah rip off. But when home girl is right, she’s right. Let this be your a-ha moment. Here’s to an amazing 2014 everybody!
