Forget Labor Day rules. White heels have been showing up on left and right feet. Zoe Saldana’s white pumps popped on the red carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards a couple weeks ago. Solange Knowles rocked at pair when she performed on David Letterman. This lovely trend even took a trip across the sea (or maybe it originated there) to Paris Fashion Week. Guy Laroche sent many of his models down the runway in white pumps, and Emma Roberts strutted to her seat at the H&M Fall/Winter 2013 Ready-to-Wear show in a pair of strappy Christian Louboutin ‘June’ slingbacks.
As of late, sometimes the snowy shoe works to accent this season’s ongoing monochromatic/high contrast black and white trend, and sometimes it works as the white cap that punctuates an outfit (as seen with Karolina Kurkova at NWFW), much like a drink that punctuates the end of an evening.
