Whoa! It’s my first month with this new beauty subscription and I’m totally tipsy for Ipsy! (Cringe!) I hope that this marvelous monthly continues to live up to expectations, but it set the bar high and has blown me away with May. The products are all useful and high-quality offerings, and instead of wimpy sample packets each item was full-sized in my case. And speaking of cases, as if getting almost seventy dollars worth of beauty swag for ten bucks flat wasn’t fantastic enough, the make-up bag for May was a tart and tangy tangerine and blue-hued chevron, adorable enough to double as a casual clutch.
Being introduced to a disc of Yaby Concealer and the company’s green practices was a real treat. Vegan-friendly Yaby Cosmetics concealers “have a creamy texture and are extremely easy to apply. They are highly pigmented to correct any imperfection on the face and body, are creamy and gentle for around the eyes and are tear proof!” Apparently the easy-on-the-environment approach also applies to Yaby‘s packaging, the make-up’s little metal pans are meant to be reusable. A tube of Anastasia Clear Brow Gel was a huge highlight and is sure to become a make-up bag staple. A supple but sturdy polymer creates a flake-proof formula that defines and holds your painstakingly crafted brow look, “Anastasia Beverly Hills’ best selling product is a clear gel for all brow colors that sets, defines, and shapes your brows all day long for a lustrous, natural look.” Banish bad brows by getting it from Anastasia online for $22.
A regular-sized bottle of Zoya Nail Polish was a sweet surprise, in a soft and shimmery baby pink called “Gie Gie“. If you’ve been paying attention, you know that Zoya is one of my favorites for its variety of vibrant colors, durability, and less toxic formula. The award-winning polish is another vegan find and available from Zoya for $8, but frequent sales and promotions are a perk of being a loyal Zoya lover.
A lead-free and paraben-free full tube of luscious Mirabella Colour Sheers Lipstick came in “Posy”, a fun and feminine fuchsia: “Hydrate and nourish lips while depositing beautifully translucent color for the perfect pout.” Mirabella lip color retails from the Mirabella site for $22.
Pacifica Perfume Roll On also came in a full product size, .33 ounces, in a breathtaking summery Tahitian Gardenia: “This heady, vintage-inspired blend showcases the sacred Gardenia bloom, a symbol of love, unity, grace and strength. It’s sweet, smooth and slightly citrusy aroma is reminiscent of Jasmine, Sweet Orange and Tea Leaves.” The sexy scent is vegan, gluten-free, and not tested on animals, free from of phthalates, nitro-musks, and benzene.
