Dove’s brand is well-known for promoting real women, real bodies, and real beauty. Their newest campaign “Real Beauty Sketches” reaffirms their commitment to creating a world where “beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety.”
According to Dove only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful. So the company collaborated with Gil Zamora, an FBI trained forensic sketch artist to blindly draw women as they described themselves. Zamora then drew a portraits based on a stranger’s description of the same woman. The video is a both shocking and moving testament to that statistic, and Melinda has it right when she says, “We should put more energy on the things that we do like about ourselves, as opposed to the things that we don’t.” You are more beautiful than you think.
