Autumn is upon us, and Breast Cancer Awareness month is right around the corner in October. To Go Pink and stand in solidarity with survivors and those still fighting, Pink Hair For Hope lets ladies live a little by showing off a (temporary) sexy pink streak, and give a little by donating to fight breast cancer.
“Now in its 8th year,” a press release reads, “clients who donate $10 or more to Pink Hair For Hope at a local participating salon, will receive a 100% natural, pink SHE by SO.CAP.USA hair extension. They can choose from professionally bonded or clip-in hair extensions that they can put in themselves and re-wear over and over again.”
The Pink Hair for Hope annual campaign has brought together more than 1,000 salons and stylists nationwide, and has succeeded in raising over $2.5 million dollars to fight breast cancer. Hair Replacement Options SHE by SO.CAP.USA also provide an alternative to wigs to replace hair loss due to chemotherapy.
Clients who’d like to locate a participating salons can call 877-855-4247 and for more information, or visit www.PinkHairForHope.org, or www.socapusa.com. Stylists and salons who’d like to register to participate can contact Pink Hair For Hope at info@pinkhairforhope.org or call 855-LUV-PHFH (855-588-7434).
Though sharing the color of your bra on Facebook somehow passes for supporting the cause (and yet somehow isn’t questioned as bright idea of a 12-year-old boy who thinks it’s funny to trick ladies into revealing the color of their lingerie), I think we can all agree this is a better alternative, right?
How do you like to Go Pink during the month of October? If you know of any additional great campaigns to add a little pink to your fall wardrobe in a unique way that benefits breast cancer charities, please share in the comments, below. — Casandra Armour
