2013 is the year of the snake and fashion magazine Elle suggested some seriously gorgeous accessories to bring out your inner reptile style. While we love a great snake bracelet, spending $7500 on one piece of jewelry isn’t exactly in our budget. So naturally, we had to scour the web for some equally stunning pieces that won’t break the bank.
A great place to find unique jewelry for budget friendly prices is the ever popular website Etsy. We love that most things are hand made, and you get to support local businesses without leaving your couch! We love this tiny cobra ring for it’s playful nature. A cobra head popping out of your middle finger? Umm, yes please.
Next up, one of our favorite designers for funky jewelry, the one and only Betsey Johnson. We adore these black and gold snake earrings, and for only $30, they are a definite steal.
If you aren’t ready for a full fledged snake on your wrist, this snake scale cuff by Wendy Williams is a great way to elude to your slithery nature, without going all out. But if you ARE in the mood to take it Cleopatra style, we’re pretty obsessed with this bracelet.
We can’t talk faux snakeskin accessories without suggesting a chic purse to add to the mix. We think this Python Clutch from Nasty Gal is the perfect small bag to add to your collection, and while it definitely makes a bold statement, it’s still a classic piece that will never go out of style.
Lastly, this lovely little necklace by Vince Camuto is a great way to celebrate the Year of the Snake without wearing a boa constrictor around your neck. We love the demure nature of the small charm with the snakeskin like pattern on the chain.
Happy Chinese New Year, and enjoy the sssssexy year of the snake!
