I’m from: The Valley. Yes, I’m a Valley Girl.
Favorite foods: Pasta, Bread, Tomatoes, Chocolate.
Food mantra: Fresh, seasonal, organic.
Always: Listen to music while I cook.
Sometimes: Dance around the house when no one else is home.
Never: Let someone’s negative opinion deter you from what you really want to do.
Mother taught me: To care about ingredients and know what I was putting in my body. She taught me to read the ingredients on the back of the box and never buy anything that had an ingredient you didn’t know or couldn’t pronounce.
Grandmother taught me: To enjoy life to the fullest. Take the time to indulge every once in a while. You deserve it.
Don’t listen to: Anyone who tells you that something is not possible. Everything is possible. You just have to be willing to take a chance and start.
Everyday I’m: Thankful to be doing what I love.
Secretly Obsessed: With my husband. Don’t tell anyone.
Pull inspiration from: Alice Waters. I have a wonderful collection of her cookbooks and always turn to them for ideas. Her recipes are simple and the success of them is based on using the best local ingredients….my food philosophy as well.
My most clever piece of advice: Say yes. Don’t be afraid to take things on because you don’t know everything yet. Just say yes. You will figure it out and learn along the way.
We love a girl who takes her own advice.
